This year the Ikenobo Edmonton Study Group welcomed Professor Yumi Kubota.
Professor Yumi Kubota lives in Tokyo, Japan.
Professor Kubota began her study of Ikenobo Ikebana in 1966, and in 2009, she graduated from the Advanced Course at the Ikenobo Central Training Institute, Ikenobo Headquarters, Kyoto. She has since completed the Technical Seminar in Rikka, Classic Rikka and Free Style at the Ikenobo Central Training Institute.
In 2013, Professor Kubota participated in the events for celebrating Ikenobo Ikebana 550th Year and 45th Anniversary of Ikenobo Ikebana Society of America held in Boston, U.S.A.
In addition to her teaching and study of Ikenobo, Professor Kubota enjoys Tea ceremony, handcrafts and art appreciation.
